Residential Ground Source Heat Pump Installation
Installation of Thermia Ground Source Heat Pump in Frittenden, Kent
Residential Ground Source Heat Pump Installation
The property is a single-storey dwelling, converted in the late 1980s covering an area of 260 meters squared.
We removed night storage heaters and installed a full central heating system with a combination of standard convector radiators and Jaga Fan Coil convectors .
The heating system is zoned into two areas to increase efficiency as under normal circumstances only two thirds of the dwelling is lived in and requires heating. When demand for additional heating is required, the second zone can then be enabled.
We fitted a Thermia Diplomat Duo Optimum 13kw G3 Ground source heat pump, complete with a Thermia 300 litre hot water cylinder and Joule 150 litre buffer tank.
Four 115 meter-deep bore holes were drilled in the rear garden and the main primary ground loops were brought into the building and extended at high level through the roof space into the garage which houses the heat pump.
Since our installation, our customer's heating and hot water running costs have been reduced by 75%.
The RHI payments for this installation are just over £7,000 per year for the next 7 years.
