This photo shows a more simplified solution for a ground source heat pump, serving heating and hot water.

The hot water cylinder is integrated in with the heat pump itself. The other items you see in the picture are the buffer tank, the heating expansion vessel along with the heating circulation pump.

The main heat pump controller is built into the front of the unit. This will control the hot water production also, so instead of a programmable thermostat located elsewhere in the property, this shows everything you would need for this type of installation.
