The customer was having a new house built which required a new heating system.

At the beginning the architect had specified an Oil-fired boiler, with underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators on the first floor. We explained that an air source heat pump would provide much better results than the original oil system.

 

Our recommendation to the customer was for an air source heat pump with underfloor heating to the ground and first floors. The client voiced common misconceptions surrounding air source heat pumps, including whether it would provide enough hot water for the house. We reassured her that this was far from the truth, and she was extremely pleased when she discovered that her new air source heating system worked even better than her old oil system.

We installed a Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump, a 300-litre unvented hot water cylinder and fully zoned underfloor heating to ground and first floors. Following this we batterned and insulated between first-floor joists then laid a screed infill.

 

Plumbing works were carried out to the new-build's three bathrooms, cloakroom and the kitchen.
